Michael did not sleep well thru the night and was up about every hour vomiting. This morning the nurse practioner came in to see him and she ordered some blood work and a sonogram. While going down to get the sonogram done, we ran into Dr. Wilkinson. She found us downstairs in the sonogram room and told us she was concerned with his color. Michael was looking very pale and was complaining of pain in his lower abdomen. The sonogram showed that his liver was enlarged. She gave us a name for the disease which Michael has, but basically it is not allowing him to keep the platelets that they have been giving him and also the liver is not allowing the blood to flow properly. Fluids are beginning to build on his stomach and so they have decided to move him into PICU. At this time, they are trying to put in a main line in his groin area which is risky because his blood is not clotting due to the low platelets. They are giving him platelets continuously to try to reduce the risk of bleeding. PLEASE PRAY!!! The Dr.'s are very, very worried about him at this time and so are we. Michael is in room 22 of the PICU
